Rain sounds for sleeping
Steady rain is a gentle sound with no sudden changes, so it covers traffic, voices and other small noises. Many people use it to fall asleep. The sound here is a recording of steady rain that loops with no gap, so there is no click or pause to wake you.
Rain sounds for study and focus
Rain gives a quiet, even background for reading and writing, with no words or tunes to pull your attention. If you want music too, open rainy lofi.
Where can I listen to rain sounds?
Right here, in any browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. Tap or click the sky to start the rain. Keep the tab open and the rain plays all night.
Rain from a real city
The sky on this page is not a video. It is a painted city view where the weather follows live data for that city. When this page finds rain, it shows a city where rain is falling now, and the rain in the picture is that rain. The sound is a calm recording of steady rain, at an even level so it does not tire your ears.
How to use rain sounds at night
Start the rain, set the volume low, just loud enough to cover the noises around you, and dim your screen or turn the phone face down. The rain keeps playing while the page is open. If the screen turns off on a phone, the browser can pause the sound, so keep the phone on its charger and set the screen to stay on.
Rain sounds or white noise?
White noise is an even hiss with every pitch at the same level. Rain is close to it but softer and more natural: it has small drops and patters, and less of the sharp high hiss. Many people find rain easier to listen to for a whole night. If the rain feels too busy, lower the volume until it is a soft wash in the background. If you want something to listen to as well, try rainy lofi, with slow music over the rain.
